From Mon Sep 15 through Tue Sep 23, 7:30am-4:45pm on weekdays and 9am-6:45pm on weekends, shuttle buses will replace service between Wachusett and Fitchburg.

Jackson Square will be bypassed in both directions on the weekend of September 20 - 21 to allow for accessibility upgrades at the station. Riders can use Route 22 for service between Jackson Sq and Roxbury Crossing.

Somerville Ave opp Central St (inbound) is moving through Thu Sep 18 due to construction. Riders can use the temporary stop located outside of Veterans Memorial Rink.

North Quincy Parking Lot notice: effective Monday, Sep 15, the parking lot located at Newport Ave will permanently close. The new parking lot located at 235 Hancock St will be available for parking beginning Monday, Sep 15th.

Davis Elevator 816 (Platform to lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

A shuttle bus will be available to transport customers between Harvard and Davis. To exit, exit the train at Harvard and find station personnel or use a station call box to request the shuttle bus to Davis. To board, find station personnel or use a station call box at Davis to request the shuttle bus to Harvard. Alternatively, customers may also use Bus Route 96 for transportation between Harvard and Davis.

Jackson Square: The platform is undergoing renovations until fall 2025 to improve safety and accessibility. The station will be bypassed southbound (towards Forest Hills) from 9 PM to end of service nightly on September 17 - 19 & 24 - 26.

Riders can use Route 22 service to access Forest Hills bound service at Stony Brook while the station is being bypassed. Sections of the platform will be unlevel during this period, which may make it difficult for some riders to board and exit trains. Please see station personnel or use a station call box to request assistance.

Route 439 (inbound only) detoured from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM everyday through Friday, September 19, due to construction. Connections can be made at Spring Rd @ Emerald Rd and Willow Rd @ Summer St.

Chinatown Elevator 922 (Forest Hills platform to Boylston St, Washington St) unavailable due to maintenance

To exit, exit the train at Tufts Mediical Center, then take an Oak Grove-bound train to Chinatown and use Chinatown Elevator 876. To board, proceed to the Silver Line SL5 bus stop at Washington St and Essex St, and take an SL5 (Downtown) bus to Tufts Medical Center (stay on bus past the Temple Pl stop). Alternatively, if possible, travel 0.2 miles south on Washington St to Tufts Medical Center.

A new Franklin/Foxboro Line schedule will be in effect starting on Monday, September 8. More morning peak service inbound trains serve Forest Hills, Ruggles, and Back Bay.

The inbound entrance for Attleboro Station is closed. Inbound access is unavailable via the stairs and accessibility ramp on Route 152/South Main Street. Access is detoured to stairs on Mill Street or the Inbound parking area on Union Street.

The elevator will be closed for work that will significantly improve its long-term reliability. To Exit: Get off the train at Tufts Medical Center. Go to the Washington St exit. At street level, cross Washington St. Take a Silver Line SL4 or SL5 bus to Chinatown Station at Washington St and Essex St. Alternate route: travel 0.2 miles north on Washington St to Chinatown Station. To Board: Go to Chinatown Elevator 922 on Essex St. Take Elevator 922 to the Forest Hills platform. Take a Forest Hills train to Tufts Medical Center. Transfer to an Oak Grove train.

Blue Line: There will be no train service between Bowdoin & Airport from 8:30 PM on Sept 19 through Sept 21 for maintenance work. Shuttle buses will replace service between Airport and Downtown. Riders downtown can board Airport shuttles at Haymarket.

Shuttle Bus Options: Three free and accessible shuttle bus options during this service change: a Local Shuttle, an Express Shuttle, and a Downtown Loop. Local Shuttle: Shuttle buses will make stops at Airport, Maverick, and Haymarket for Orange and Green Line connections in the downtown area. Express Shuttle: Shuttle buses will operate directly between Airport and Haymarket for Orange and Green Line connections in the downtown area with no stops in between. Downtown Loop: One shuttle bus will operate in a loop from Haymarket to Aquarium to State to Government Center. Alternative Ferry Service: East Boston Ferry service will be fare-free during this service change, with trips departing every 30 minutes from 6 AM to 10 PM. Alternative Bus Service: Riders can use SL3 service between Chelsea and South Station, with a stop at Airport Station. Regular fares will be charged. Elevator #779 from the pedestrian bridge to the platform is temporarily out of service at East Taunton until further notice. Please use the accessible ramp for access to the platform.

To accommodate Providence Station Renovations, construction barriers have been installed and the Southern stairwell to Track 1 & 3 is out of service. The Northern access is open.

South Station Pedal & Park is closed due to construction. Bicycle racks are currently available on Atlantic Ave adjacent to the South Station main entrance.

State Escalator 6 (Oak Grove platform to Old State House lobby) unavailable

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

Affected lines: Fall River/New Bedford Line

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the Western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the Reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing with the addition of bicycle lanes.

Andrew Escalator 123 (Ashmont/Braintree platform to busway) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

Hingham/Hull Ferry: Portions of the Town of Hull parking lot at the Hull ferry terminal are blocked off for sewer pump station construction work through 2025. More information is available at https://www.town.hull.ma.us/

The Upper Parking Lot at Worcester Station is closed with the exception to accessible parking, due to construction.

Oak Grove Escalator 105 (Commuter Rail platform to unpaid lobby) unavailable

Bowdoin Escalator 125 (Lobby to street) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

Lynn Parking Garage arcade stairs 1 and 2 are closed until further notice due to structural issues. Customers may exit the garage via elevators to the ground level or by using the south stairs located on the Market street side of the garage.

Vehicular access to the upper 2 levels of the garage is restricted. The garage has sufficient parking capacity to accommodate daily demand.
