Hingham/Hull Ferry Notice: Beginning on May 18, passengers should allow for extra time to park and to access the ferry in Hingham due to work being done for the new dock. In addition, Route 220 buses will be bypassing the shipyard and remain on Route 3A.

Pedestrian Access: There will be no access between the Hingham Ferry Terminal and DCR building. Pedestrian access to the and from the ferry dock will be through and around the west side of the Hingham Ferry Terminal. Some sidewalk access at the Terminal may also be restricted during this work. Shipyard Drive: Shipyard Drive will be closed to traffic in front of the Hingham Ferry Terminal starting at 9 AM on Wednesday, May 20. Traffic will be rerouted through the Hingham Parking lot. Drop-offs and pick-ups will be relocated to the parking lot. Traffic police and signage will be in place to direct traffic. This closure should last approximately one week.

Braintree branch riders: Regular service will operate between JFK/UMass and Braintree, but riders must take a shuttle bus between Broadway and JFK/UMass. Accessibility: Free and accessible shuttle buses will operate between Broadway and Ashmont. Accessible van service will be available between Broadway and Ashmont. Riders should see station personnel for assistance. Travel times: Riders using shuttles bus service should budget ample extra travel time. For example, a rider travelling to Park Street from Ashmont should budget at least an additional 30 – 40 minutes of travel in additional to their regular commute. Alternate service: Riders are encouraged to consider Commuter Rail service between South Station and Braintree, which will be free during this service change. Framingham/Worcester Line will be replaced by a shuttle bus service between Grafton and Worcester from Sat, May 16 through Sun, May 17 and Sat, June 6 through Sun, June 7.

Framingham/Worcester Line Commuter Rail service will operate between Grafton and South Station. Riders can take shuttle buses between Worcester and Grafton. Travel Time: Riders using the shuttle buses should budget extra travel time. For example, a rider traveling to South Station from Worcester should budget at least 25 extra minutes of travel in addition to their regular trip time. Accessibility Information: There will be no accessible vans provided, as all shuttle buses are equipped with a wheelchair lift and all shuttle stops are accessible. Lynn Ferry Notice: Due to the presence of Right Whales, Lynn ferries are operating on a modified weekday schedule through Friday, May 15.

Green Line C Branch: Shuttle buses are replacing service between Kenmore and Cleveland Circle through Sunday, May 17, for infrastructure upgrades.

Accessibility: Shuttle bus service is not available at Saint Mary’s Street, Kent Street, or Brandon Hall in both directions. Riders should instead utilize shuttle bus service at the next nearest stop. Alternate Service: Riders are also encouraged to utilize nearby D Branch service at Reservoir. Peak Period Limited Shuttle Service: A limited stop shuttle will be offered during peak hours, serving Cleveland Circle, Washington Sq, Coolidge Corner, and Kenmore only. Green Line E Branch: Symphony station will be closed for major accessibility upgrades beginning June 6. Riders can use Prudential or Northeastern to access E Branch service. Construction is expected to last approximately 3 years.

Alternate Service Options: • Riders who typically board or disembark at Symphony can instead board or disembark at Northeastern University or Prudential, which are 0.3 miles away (or about a five-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders are encouraged to instead consider travelling on the Orange Line at Massachusetts Avenue, which is 0.1 miles (or about a three-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders may also use the Route 39, which operates parallel to the E branch in both directions along Huntington Avenue. Background: Currently, there are no step-free pathways from the entrances to the platforms at Symphony, and the station is not able to be accessed by people with wheeled mobility devices. When construction is complete in spring 2029, Symphony will be enhanced with four new accessible elevators, raised platforms for easier boarding, accessible bathrooms, improved wayfinding, more lighting, and upgraded safety features, making the station safer and easier to use for all riders. To board, proceed to the Silver Line SL5 bus stop at Washington St and Essex St, and take an SL5 (Downtown) bus to Tufts Medical Center (stay on bus past the Temple Pl stop). Alternatively, if possible, travel 0.2 miles south on Washington St to Tufts Medical Center.

Andrew Escalator 123 (Ashmont/Braintree platform to busway) is unavailable until further notice, pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

From March through June, 2026, Wickford Junction Garage will be undergoing renovation. Visitors can expect one level at a time to be inaccessible as crews work to complete each floor.

To accommodate Providence Station Renovations, construction barriers have been installed and the Southern stairwell to Track 1 is out of service. Staircase access to Track 3 and Track 5 are now open.

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the Reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing with the addition of bicycle lanes.

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the Western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.
