MBTA Ferry: All Lynn ferry service has been cancelled today due to rough seas. Passengers may consider Newburyport/Rockport Line Commuter Rail service or Blue Line subway service as alternatives.

Alewife Escalator 350 (Russell Field to platform) is unavailable due to maintenance.

Blue Line: To accomplish switch work at Wonderland, all trains will operate on the outbound/eastbound track between Wonderland and Revere Beach the weekends of September 26 – 27, and October 3 - 4.

Train service between Wonderland and Revere Beach will operate on the outbound (Wonderland) track approximately every 14 minutes. At Revere Beach, riders will board at the normal platform locations. Inbound service will continue beyond Revere Beach and operate normally to Bowdoin. Wayfinding: Riders are encouraged to follow directions via station signage and from onsite station personnel. Train predictions via countdown clocks will not be available between Wonderland and Revere Beach. Fares: No fares will be collected at Wonderland. Travel Time: Riders will experience longer wait times and should allow extra travel time during this work.

Green Line C Branch: Trains will skip Hawes St outbound from Oct 9 - Nov 7 while accessibility upgrades are being done. Riders can board/alight one stop away at either Saint Mary’s St or Kent St, which are 0.2-0.3 miles away (about a 4 - 6 minute walk)

South Acton Elevator 704 (Track 1 (outbound platform) to pedestrian bridge) is unavailable.

To travel from the Fitchburg platform to the North Station platform, travel to the east end of the platform and proceed down the ramp to the small parking lot. Continue east on Railroad St to Main St. At Main St, turn right and continue to Maple St. At Maple St, turn right and continue to the walkway that leads to the platform. To travel from the North Station platform to the Fitchburg platform, travel east on Maple St towards Main St. At Main St, turn left and continue to Railroad St. At Railroad St, turn left and continue to the station, where a ramp to the Fitchburg platform is located next the small parking lot.

Fare Validation Machines are being installed at all Fairmount Line stations. Passengers will need to validate their fare to scan through the gates at South Station.

On Mon, Sep 21, a temporary construction schedule will go into effect for the Franklin/Foxboro Line. From 8:30am until 2:30pm there will be decreased service to and from Foxboro to accommodate track improvement work.

Trips Temporarily Suspended: Inbound - 1732 (10:42am from Foxboro) & 1748 (2:09pm from Foxboro) Outbound - 1725 (8:43am from South Station) & 1739 (12:28pm from South Station) Shuttle bus service to and from Walpole will connect with scheduled train service. Additional service changes will occur throughout the end of the year.

Green Line C Branch: Trains are not stopping at Dean Road inbound through October 9 while accessibility upgrades are being done. Riders can board or alight at either Englewood Ave or Tappan St, which are 0.2 miles away (or a 4- to 5-minute walk)

The Route 505 stops at Washington St @ Prospect St, inbound and outbound, have moved for construction. Riders can use the bus stop at Washington St @ Auburn St during this work.

The Route 60 & 65 outbound stop at Brookline Ave @ Longwood Ave has moved due to construction. Please board buses at Brookline Ave @ Deaconess Rd.

The Route 77 & 96 outbound stop at Massachusetts Ave @ Wendell St moves about 100 feet south, from 7 AM - 4 PM weekdays, due to construction.

The Route 80, 87, & 88 outbound stop at McGrath Hwy @ Poplar St has temporarily relocated to the front of the Mercedes Benz dealership due to construction.

The Route 429 outbound stop at Garfield Ave @ Catalina Rd has moved through September 25 for construction. Riders can board at 50 Garfield Ave.

The Route 429 inbound stop at Garfield Ave @ Sherman St has moved through September 25 for construction. Riders can board at 91 Garfield Ave.

Route 465 has returned as a pilot between Salem Depot and Danvers Square via Liberty Tree Mall. The route serves Danvers Square (High St @ Park St) and existing stops between Liberty Tree Mall and Salem Depot.

Service Frequency: Route 465 runs about every 60 minutes from 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. It serves destinations along Endicott Street, including Market Basket and Massachusetts General Hospital, in both directions. Restructured Service between Liberty Tree Mall – Salem Depot: Outbound Route 435 trips will end at Liberty Tree Mall instead of continuing to Salem Depot. For service between Liberty Tree Mall and Salem Depot, transfer to restored Route 465 at Liberty Tree Mall.

Routes 220 & 222 now have increased frequency and simplified service on both routes.

What Are We Doing: Buses are arriving every 30 minutes or better on both routes, 5 AM - 1 AM Monday - Saturday and 6 AM – 1 AM Sunday. Between Quincy Center and Bridge St @ Newton St, a 220 or 222 bus are arriving every 15 minutes or better. Route 220 Discontinued Service: The Hingham Center loop route pattern, which runs twice a day on weekdays, will be discontinued. Use Route 220 at Hingham Depot for service toward Quincy Center, 1.3 miles or less from the eliminated stops. The Endicott Mini-high platform project has begun. Passengers and local residents can expect pedestrian path changes to platform, construction vehicles, and construction activity during the day through the Winter of 2026.

Maverick Escalator 428 (Unpaid lobby to Lewis Mall) is unavailable due to maintenance.

On Tuesday, September 22, through Tuesday, December 1, State Elevator 803 (Forest Hills platform to Washington Street, Milk Street) will be unavailable due to maintenance.

The elevator will be closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve the long-term reliability of this elevator. To board a Train to Forest Hills: Cross Milk St and go south on Washington St for one-tenth of a mile (two blocks) to the intersection of Washington St and Winter St. Take Downtown Crossing Elevator 892 to the Forest Hills platform. To board a Train to Oak Grove: Cross Milk St and go south on Washington St for 500 ft (one block) to the intersection of Washington St and Franklin St. Take Downtown Crossing Elevator 891 to the Oak Grove platform. To exit the station: Go to the end of the Forest Hills platform and continue down the hallway (follow signs for Oak Grove and Blue Line) to the Wonderland platform. At the Wonderland platform, go to the 53 State St lobby and use State Elevator 975 to exit.

On Tuesday, September 22, through Tuesday, December 1, Downtown Crossing Elevator 869 (Alewife platform to Summer Street Concourse) will be unavailable due to maintenance.

The elevator will be closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve the long-term reliability of this elevator. To board a Red Line Train: Proceed to the Orange Line Oak Grove Platform at the opposite end of the concourse. Take elevator 998 or 999 to the Red Line passage, then follow signs to Alewife. To exit the station: Proceed to the north end of the platform to the Orange - Red Line passage. Take Elevator 998 or 999 to the Orange Line Oak Grove platform. Exit the station using the 101 Arch St Elevator on the Summer St concourse.

Alternate Service Options: • Riders who typically board or disembark at Symphony can instead board or disembark at Northeastern University or Prudential, which are 0.3 miles away (or about a five-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders are encouraged to instead consider travelling on the Orange Line at Massachusetts Avenue, which is 0.1 miles (or about a three-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders may also use the Route 39, which operates parallel to the E branch in both directions along Huntington Avenue. Background: Currently, there are no step-free pathways from the entrances to the platforms at Symphony, and the station is not able to be accessed by people with wheeled mobility devices. When construction is complete in spring 2029, Symphony will be enhanced with four new accessible elevators, raised platforms for easier boarding, accessible bathrooms, improved wayfinding, more lighting, and upgraded safety features, making the station safer and easier to use for all riders.

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours when accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing, with the addition of bicycle lanes.

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

Exit train onto the center platform. Transfer to an Ashmont or Braintree train.

The elevator is closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve the long-term reliability of this elevator. To exit: Travel down the Summer St concourse towards the Red Line. About halfway down the concourse, take a left through the set of glass doors marked 101 Arch St. Follow signs to the elevator. Take elevator to the 101 Arch St lobby and exit on Summer St. To board: Proceed to 101 Arch St on Summer St (across from Macy’s). Take elevator located in the rear-left corner of the lobby to Summer St concourse. At the concourse, turn right and follow signs to Oak Grove platform.

Select areas of the Anderson/Woburn MBTA Daily Lot and Gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed for major paving and infrastructure improvement work.

Beginning July 13, 2026, the Woburn Anderson Regional Transportation Center will undergo a major paving and infrastructure improvement project, with work expected to be completed by November 16, 2026. To support these critical renovations and enhance the long-term safety and functionality of the facility, select areas of the MBTA Daily Lot and the gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed throughout the construction period. Hingham Ferry Parking Notice: Passengers should allow for extra time to park and to access the ferry in Hingham due to work being done for the new dock. In addition, Route 220 buses are bypassing the shipyard and are remaining on Route 3A.

Pedestrian Access: There is no access between the Hingham Ferry Terminal and DCR building. Pedestrian access to and from the ferry dock is through and around the west side of the Hingham Ferry Terminal. Some sidewalk access at the Terminal may also be restricted during this work. Shipyard Drive: Shipyard Drive is closed to traffic in front of the Hingham Ferry Terminal. Traffic is being rerouted through the Hingham Parking lot. Drop-offs and pick-ups have been relocated to the parking lot. Traffic police and signage will be in place to direct traffic.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

Lynn Parking Garage is partially closed, but has sufficient parking capacity to accommodate daily demand.
