Shuttle Train Information: All Orange Line train service between Oak Grove and Wellington will operate with a shuttle train on the southbound track approximately every 16 - 18 minutes. A shuttle train operates back and forth on a single track. Service between Wellington and Forest Hills: The shuttle train only operates between Oak Grove and Wellington. Riders travelling beyond Wellington will need to transfer between the shuttle train and regular Orange Line train service (across the platform at Wellington). Service between Forest Hills and Wellington will operate as normal, approximately every 7 - 9 minutes. Additional Travel Time: Riders will experience longer wait times and should allow extra travel time. Foxboro Event Service train tickets for the BTS concerts on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6, are sold out.

Regular weekday Franklin/Foxboro service is operating as scheduled throughout both days. The last train from Foxboro to South Station is scheduled to depart at 10:49pm. Passengers can consider Providence/Stoughton Line service to Mansfield, which is just over 7 miles from the stadium.

Fare gates at Ruggles Station will begin operating on Monday, August 3. Riders will be required to tap or scan their tickets or passes to enter and exit at Ruggles.

The station will feature seven fare gates, including two wider, accessible gates that provide sufficient room for wheelchairs, scooters, bicycles, luggage, and strollers. Once the fare gates are operational, riders will notice the following fare collection changes: Riders will be required to tap or scan their tickets or passes to enter and exit at Ruggles. Riders will still need to show tickets to conductors on board to verify that their ticket zone matches their trip. Riders who arrive at Ruggles without tickets will be required to purchase them through the mTicket app or from a staff member stationed at the gates. Passengers can use the following types of tickets to exit and enter the gates: the mTicket app, CharlieCards and CharlieTickets with printed zones, $10 Weekend Pass paper tickets, Amtrak tickets, and active military IDs. Reduced fare passengers must still buy a ticket or pass (at a reduced rate). Stored value CharlieCards used for the bus and subway are not accepted at Commuter Rail fare gates. Customer service staff at Ruggles are available to assist passengers with questions about the fare gates. To accommodate renovations at Providence Station, construction barriers have been installed and the southern stairwell to Track 1 is out of service. Staircase access is available to Track 3 and Track 5.

The platform at Jackson Square is undergoing renovations to improve safety and accessibility. Sections of the platform are unlevel, which may make it difficult for some riders to board and exit trains.

The stairway connecting the Jackson Square lobby and the south end of the platform is closed until winter 2026. Use the stairway at the north end of the platform. This closure is for the construction of a new stairway and a second elevator.

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours when accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing, with the addition of bicycle lanes.

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

Affected lines: Fall River/New Bedford Line

Red Line: Shuttle buses are replacing service between Alewife and Park Street for infrastructure upgrades. Riders can also use Commuter Rail, and existing bus routes, as alternatives. Regular service will resume on July 31.

Accessibility: All shuttle buses are accessible to riders with disabilities, however, the majority of buses used during weekdays will be lift-equipped, coach-style buses. Accessible van service will also be available on weekdays between Alewife and Park Street for those who prefer it – riders should see station personnel to request this service. The majority of shuttle bus service on weekends are low-floor, ramp-buses. Express Shuttles Between Harvard and South Station: Free and accessible express shuttles will be operating between Harvard (Eliot St @ Bennett St) and the South Station Bus Terminal (Gate 37). They will run every 15 minutes. Alternative Bus Service: Riders can use Bus Routes 69, 87, 88, 89, 91, and 109 from Davis Square, Harvard Square, and Central Square to connect with the Green Line’s Medford/Tufts and Union Square branches. Alternate Rail Service: Riders can use fare-free Commuter Rail service between Porter Sq and North Station. Regular fares should be purchased for travel beyond Porter. Travel Times: Riders using shuttle bus service should budget ample extra travel time. A rider traveling between Alewife and Park Street should budget at least 70 minutes of travel time in addition to their regular commute. Park Street Elevator 823 (Green Line underpass to Copley & West platform) is closed for maintenance. It is scheduled to return to service on September 22.

This elevator is closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve its long-term reliability. To board a northbound train: Proceed to the end of the platform and take Park Street Elevator 979 to the Red Line. At the end of the Red Line platform, use Elevator 808 to access the Winter St concourse and Green Line northbound platform.

Park Street Elevator 812 (Green Line underpass to Government Center & North platform) is closed for maintenance. It is scheduled to return to service on September 22.

This elevator is closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve its long-term reliability. To board a train to Copley and West: Follow signs to the Red Line and take Park Street Elevator 808 to the Red Line platform. Then use Park Street Elevator 979 to the Green Line Copley and West platform.

Green Line C Branch: Westbound (outbound) trains will not stop at Summit Avenue from Monday, July 20 through Friday, August 7. Riders may board or exit at Coolidge Corner or Brandon Hall, which are each 0.2 miles away (a 4- to 6-minute walk).

On Monday, July 27, a temporary construction schedule will be in effect on the Framingham/Worcester Line. From 7:30am to 4:00pm there will be decreased service in both directions to accommodate necessary track work.

Temporary schedule adjustments: • Four off-peak inbound trains are temporarily removed from the schedule, with service operating roughly every two hours between 9am and 4pm: Trains 530 (9:05am), 538 (11:00am), 546 (1:05pm), and 554 (3:00pm) • Four off-peak outbound trains are temporarily removed from the schedule between 7:30am and 1:00pm, with service operating roughly every two hours: Trains 519 (7:30am), 525 (8:55am), 533 (10:50am), and 541 (12:55pm) • Several midday trips in both directions have 5 minutes added to their scheduled run times. Inbound and outbound rush hour service is not affected. Crews will replace 80,000 linear feet, or 15 miles, of rail between Framingham and Auburndale. This is the equivalent of 7.5 track miles when accounting for both tracks. The new rail will not need to be replaced again for 25+ years.

The Endicott Mini-high platform project has begun. Passengers and local residents can expect construction vehicles and activity during the day through the Winter of 2026.

To exit: Exit the train onto the center platform at Park Street Station. Travel to the south end of the platform and take Elevator 808 to the Winter St concourse, then elevator 804 to Winter St. To board: Take an Alewife train to Park Street Station (1 stop). Exit train onto the center platform. Transfer to an Ashmont or Braintree train.

Downtown Crossing Elevator 891 (Oak Grove platform to Franklin Street) is closed for maintenance. It is scheduled to return to service on September 22.

The elevator is closed for major equipment upgrades that will significantly improve the long-term reliability of this elevator. To exit: Travel down the Summer St concourse towards the Red Line. About halfway down the concourse, take a left through the set of glass doors marked 101 Arch St. Follow signs to the elevator. Take elevator to the 101 Arch St lobby and exit on Summer St. To board: Proceed to 101 Arch St on Summer St (across from Macy’s). Take elevator located in the rear-left corner of the lobby to Summer St concourse. At the concourse, turn right and follow signs to Oak Grove platform.

Select areas of the Anderson/Woburn MBTA Daily Lot and Gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed for major paving and infrastructure improvement work.

Beginning July 13, 2026, the Woburn Anderson Regional Transportation Center will undergo a major paving and infrastructure improvement project, with work expected to be completed by November 16, 2026. To support these critical renovations and enhance the long-term safety and functionality of the facility, select areas of the MBTA Daily Lot and the gated Overnight Lot will be temporarily closed throughout the construction period. Motorists and facility users are encouraged to plan accordingly and carefully follow all posted signage, traffic control measures, and parking restrictions to ensure a safe and efficient experience during the project.

Alternate Service Options: • Riders who typically board or disembark at Symphony can instead board or disembark at Northeastern University or Prudential, which are 0.3 miles away (or about a five-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders are encouraged to instead consider travelling on the Orange Line at Massachusetts Avenue, which is 0.1 miles (or about a three-minute walk) from Symphony. • Riders may also use the Route 39, which operates parallel to the E branch in both directions along Huntington Avenue. Background: Currently, there are no step-free pathways from the entrances to the platforms at Symphony, and the station is not able to be accessed by people with wheeled mobility devices. When construction is complete in spring 2029, Symphony will be enhanced with four new accessible elevators, raised platforms for easier boarding, accessible bathrooms, improved wayfinding, more lighting, and upgraded safety features, making the station safer and easier to use for all riders.

Hingham Ferry Parking Notice: Passengers should allow for extra time to park and to access the ferry in Hingham due to work being done for the new dock. In addition, Route 220 buses are bypassing the shipyard and are remaining on Route 3A.

Pedestrian Access: There is no access between the Hingham Ferry Terminal and DCR building. Pedestrian access to and from the ferry dock is through and around the west side of the Hingham Ferry Terminal. Some sidewalk access at the Terminal may also be restricted during this work. Shipyard Drive: Shipyard Drive is closed to traffic in front of the Hingham Ferry Terminal. Traffic is being rerouted through the Hingham Parking lot. Drop-offs and pick-ups have been relocated to the parking lot. Traffic police and signage will be in place to direct traffic.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.
