Shuttle buses will replace Framingham/Worcester Line service between Framingham and Boston beginning at 10:50 PM on Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26. Express and local buses will be available to and from Back Bay and South Station.

Express buses will serve all stops between Framingham and Wellesley Hills and then run express to either Back Bay or South Station. Local buses will serve all stops (except Wellesley Farms and Lansdowne) between Wellesley Hills and either Back Bay or South Station. There will be timed transfers between the local and express routes at Wellesley Hills. Travel Times: Riders using the shuttles should budget ample extra travel time. For example, a rider travelling to South Station from Framingham should budget approximately 20 extra minutes if taking the express shuttles and up to 70 extra minutes if taking the local shuttles. Blue Line: Service will be suspended between Airport and Bowdoin, the weekend of Sat, May 9 and Sun, May 10 due to maintenance. Free and accessible shuttle buses will make stops at Airport, Maverick and Haymarket.

Stop Information: Shuttle buses will not stop at Aquarium, State, Government Center, or Bowdoin. All Orange and Green Line connections can be made at Haymarket. Alternative Ferry Service: East Boston Ferry service is fare-free between Lewis Mall Wharf, a short walk from Maverick Station, and Long Wharf. Mattapan Line: Shuttle buses replace service between Ashmont and Mattapan beginning at 6 PM on Thursday, May 14, until the end of service on Saturday, May 16, for maintenance work.

Accessibility: Free and accessible shuttle buses will replace service between Ashmont and Mattapan. Alternative service: Riders can also use the Fairmount Commuter Rail Line at Blue Hill Ave Station. Travel Time: Riders using shuttles bus service should budget ample extra travel time. For example, a rider travelling to Ashmont from Mattapan should budget at least an additional 15 minutes of travel in additional to their regular commute. Riders should instead utilize shuttle bus service at the next nearest stop.  Alternate Service: Riders are also encouraged to utilize nearby D branch service at Reservoir. Travel Time: Riders using shuttles bus service should budget ample extra travel time. For example, a rider travelling to Government Center from Cleveland Circle should budget at least an additional 15 minutes of travel in additional to their regular commute.

Green Line B Branch: Shuttle buses will replace service between Kenmore and Boston College from Wednesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 30 due to infrastructure upgrades.

Weekend closure extension: Riders should note that the Green Line B Branch suspension will be extended to Copley during the weekend of April 25 – 26. Shuttle information: Shuttle buses will not stop at Griggs Street, Allston Street, or Packard’s Corner due to accessibility issues. Alternate service: On April 22 – 24 and April 27 – 30, riders can also use free Route 57 bus service for alternate travel between Kenmore and Packard’s Corner. Additional Information: Due to anticipated high ridership caused by the Boston Marathon, the Commuter Rail will be unable to accommodate bicycles on the Worcester Line. Cyclists should arrange alternate transport for their bicycles or make alternative travel arrangements.

To travel from the North Station platform to the Fitchburg platform, travel east on Maple St towards Main St. At Main St, turn left and continue to Railroad St. At Railroad St, turn left and continue to the station, where a ramp to the Fitchburg platform is located next the small parking lot. To travel from the Fitchburg platform to the North Station platform, travel to the east end of the platform and proceed down the ramp to the small parking lot. Continue east on Railroad St to Main St. At Main St, turn right and continue to Maple St. At Maple St, turn right and continue to the walkway that leads to the platform.

The stairway connecting the Jackson Square lobby and the south end of the platform is closed until winter 2026. Use the stairway at the north end of the platform. This closure is for the construction of a new stairway and a second elevator.

Construction is ongoing in the Hingham Parking lot and on Shipyard Drive in preparation for the Hingham Ferry Dock upgrades. There is reduced parking in the lot, and portions of Shipyard Drive and driveways to and from the parking lot are affected.

Andrew Escalator 123 (Ashmont/Braintree platform to busway) is unavailable until further notice, pending replacement.

Bowdoin Escalator 125 (Lobby to street) is unavailable until further notice, pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

The platform at Jackson Square is undergoing renovations to improve safety and accessibility. Sections of the platform are unlevel, which may make it difficult for some riders to board and exit trains.

From March through June, 2026, Wickford Junction Garage will be undergoing renovation. Visitors can expect one level at a time to be inaccessible as crews work to complete each floor.

To accommodate Providence Station Renovations, construction barriers have been installed and the Southern stairwell to Track 1 is out of service. Staircase access to Track 3 and Track 5 are now open.

Littleton/Route 495 passengers can expect occasional traffic and detours accessing the station due to the Foster Street reconstruction work.

Scheduled to complete sometime in 2027, the Reconstruction of Foster Street includes widening and resurfacing with the addition of bicycle lanes.

There is no accessible path connecting the inbound and outbound platforms at Wellesley Square Station. The existing path includes steep slopes and is long. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

There are accessible mini-high platforms at the Western end of both the Track 1 and Track 2 sides. However, the existing pedestrian path between the two sides is long and includes steep slopes, especially on the Crest Road bridge over the tracks. Designs are underway to provide for a fully compliant pathway.

The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.
