Chinatown Escalator 366 (Forest Hills platform to Washington Street) unavailable due to maintenance

On the weekends of Jan 18-19, Feb 1-2, Feb 15-16 & Mar 8-9, express and local shuttle buses will replace regular train service between Swampscott and North Station on the Newburyport/Rockport Line to allow for bridge replacement work.

- A diversion schedule will be in effect. - Express service will operate between Swampscott and North Station. - Local service will make an extra stop at Wonderland Station for a Blue Line connection. - Passengers at Chelsea may also consider a Silver Line SL3 connection. - This allows for work in support of MassDOT’s Maffa Way/Mystic Avenue Bridge Superstructure Replacement project. Here is a list of the shuttle bus locations: North Station: Nashua Street on the Southern side of the station. Chelsea: On Everrett Avenue by Vale Street, North of the station. Wonderland: At the station busway, Berth E. Lynn: At the Lynn Station busway, 325 Broad Street, Berth 1. There will be no service at Lynn Interim Station, passengers must make their way to the old station's busway. Swampscott: On Railroad Avenue, just South of the station.

On the weekends of Jan 18-19, Feb 1-2, Feb 15-16 & Mar 8-9, buses will replace train service between Reading & North Station on the Haverhill Line. Trains will make all stops between Haverhill & Ballardvale and stop at Anderson/Woburn on the Lowell Line.

- A diversion schedule will be in effect. -There will be a local bus making all stops between North Station and Reading. - Buses will also provide service between Reading and Anderson/Woburn to connect with Haverhill Line or Lowell Line trains. - While shuttle buses are running between Reading and North Station, passengers between Reading and Malden Center may also consider MBTA Bus #137, which will be fare-free during this outage, as an alternative option. - There will be no bus or train service at North Wilmington Station. Passengers will be advised to consider a connection with the Lowell Line at Wilmington station (1.9 miles of distance). - This allows for work in support of MassDOT’s Maffa Way/Mystic Avenue Bridge Superstructure Replacement project. Here is a list of the shuttle bus locations: North Station: Nashua Street, at the Western side of North Station. If you are traveling to Malden Center or Oak Grove, there is also an Orange Line shuttle bus available on Haverhill Street off of Causeway. The Oak Grove Station Parking Lot has reduced availability through Monday, Mar 31, 2025, due to construction. Alternative parking is available at Wellington and/or Station Landing Garage (levels 6-8).

Willow St @ Lyme St (outbound) stop has moved permanently around the corner. Please board at the painted bus box on Lyme St.

Effective Monday, Sept 9th & for approximately 7 weeks, the high-level platform on the outbound side of Attleboro station is closed for renovation. Please board trains at the north end of the platform. A portable lift will be available on the platform.

The staircase close to the ramp for access to the inbound platform will be closed at the same time. This temporary travel path will allow for work on the platform as part of the Attleboro Renovation Project. Plan for extra travel time. Thank you for your understanding.

East Boston, Lynn and Winthrop/Quincy Ferry service has ended for the season. Service will resume in the Spring of 2025. MBTA.com/Ferry

Quincy Center Escalator 330 (Red Line platform to lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

The two Arlington Station entrances adjacent to 350 Boylston St are temporarily closed due to construction. Riders can use the entrances across the street in front of 320 Boylston St.

Ashmont Escalator 438 (Ashmont platform to Mattapan Line, busway) unavailable due to maintenance

North Quincy Newport Avenue Parking Lot closed beginning Wed Oct 16 due to construction. The vehicle entrance and exit will relocate to the old “state street” driveway. Public access via stairs/escalators to the lobby is restricted. Elevator access only.

Due to accessibility upgrades, commuter parking will be temporarily reduced at Chestnut Hill, Waban, and Eliot. Alternative parking is available at Riverside or the Woodland Garage.

Winchester Center station is now open for Commuter Rail service. The bus shuttle service between Winchester and Wedgemere has been phased out. Check the new Lowell Line schedule at North Station or at mbta.com.

Forest Hills Escalator 127 (Lower busway north to upper lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

Commuter Rail train service is suspended at Haverhill station through Summer 2025 to allow for work on the South Elm Street Bridge. An accessible van operates between Haverhill and Bradford.

Built in 1906, the South Elm Bridge is beyond its useful life and ready to be replaced. Using accelerated bridge construction techniques to reduce customer and traffic impacts, the MBTA will replace the nearly-120-year-old bridge with a modern single-span structure with a useful life of 75 years. The new structure will include a ballasted steel deck, which means a smoother ride for passengers. The MBTA will also perform roadway, sidewalk, and drainage improvements along South Elm Street.

Hingham/Hull Ferry: Portions of the Town of Hull parking lot at the Hull ferry terminal are blocked off for sewer pump station construction work through 2025. More information is available at https://www.town.hull.ma.us/

The Upper Parking Lot at Worcester Station is closed with the exception to accessible parking, due to construction.

Effective until further notice, the entrances to Natick Center station are relocated to Washington Street for access to the inbound and outbound platforms.

North Avenue entrance and Walnut Street entrance will remain closed until further notice. This access change will allow for work on the new platforms as part of Natick Center Station Accessibility Improvements Project.

Oak Grove Escalator 105 (Commuter Rail platform to unpaid lobby) unavailable

State Escalator 6 (Oak Grove platform to Old State House lobby) unavailable until further notice.

The Quincy Adams parking garage has re-opened with most parking spaces available. Customers can access the garage via the Route 3 off ramp exit as well as the Burgin Parkway entrance.

Beginning November 29, the parking lot across from the station will close. Please use the garage or adjacent surface lot as an alternative. The Quincy Adams Garage drop-off and pick-up location will remain at its location within Level 1B. The garage will be PayByPhone / PayByPlate with no need to pay to exit. The Riverside Ave entrance at Campello Station is currently closed. Passengers may continue to use the Plain St entrance.

Ruggles Escalator 136 (Orange Line platform to upper lobby) unavailable due to maintenance

Bowdoin Escalator 125 (Lobby to street) is unavailable until further notice pending replacement.

The escalator will remain out of service for the foreseeable future. This decision was made after a thorough inspection determined that corrosion on the escalator’s steel truss was so severe that it could not be repaired further and that a complete replacement of the escalator would be required. Replacing the escalator at this location requires a more extended unit meeting modern escalator safety requirements. This longer unit will require significant alteration to the station entrance to meet code requirements. The MBTA has currently begun design work to understand what station upgrades will be needed. Due to these complexities, we expect the escalator will remain out of service for a significant time. We recognize the challenges this poses to our riders, and please know we are working to identify a solution as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Government Center Station, which is fully accessible and serves the Blue Line, is under a quarter-mile from Bowdoin Station.

The door to enter the Forest Hills Pedal and Park is not functioning. We are working to have it addressed as quickly as possible,

Lynn Parking Garage arcade stairs 1 and 2 are closed until further notice due to structural issues. Customers may exit the garage via elevators to the ground level or by using the south stairs located on the Market street side of the garage.

Vehicular access to the upper 2 levels of the garage is restricted. The garage has sufficient parking capacity to accommodate daily demand.

South Station Pedal & Park is closed due to construction. Bicycle racks are currently available on Atlantic Ave adjacent to the South Station main entrance.
